Greg Kenneally was always the team “stick doctor”; every team has one and Greg was always the best. In early 2011 during his senior year of college, Greg felt he could turn his passion into a full-time business. After graduating from Elizabethtown College, he started dyeing and stringing sticks for local customers. While taking requests and selling his work on eBay, he continued to share his work with everyone through YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

In late 2011, Greg announced to his roommates that he was going to make his own wax mesh. Unsatisfied with the current mesh on the market, Greg knew he could make a better mesh. After months of research and development and many wax formulas, Greg perfected East Coast Mesh and East Coast Dyes (ECD Lacrosse) was born in the basement of their home.

During the spring of 2012, Greg was a busy man. While taking graduate school night classes at Towson University and working full time at his dads accounting firm, he still continued to grow his business. It was not uncommon for Greg to be filling orders alone until 2:00 a.m.

In May of 2012, the business was starting to pick up and the ECD fan base was rapidly growing. Due to the increase in demand Greg formed a partnership with his twin brother Mike. Greg would ship the orders and Mike would make the mesh. They thought this would be a great hobby while they finished earning their master's degree in accounting. Shortly after forming their partnership, the Kenneally Brothers were joined by friends Dave and Ryan.

By January of 2013, as demand grew and national retail interest increased, Mike and Greg hired Ben, Mike’s college roommate, to help with shipping orders and retail sales. At this point there were 5 employees and the company had slowly taken over Greg's entire house. It was time to move.

In May of 2013, ECD finally left Greg's house and moved into a 2,000 square foot facility in Lutherville, Maryland. With the move came more employees. Tom, Keith, Travis, and Pat were hired as well as some friends to work for the summer.

June of 2013 was the company’s busiest month. Retailers across the world were now carrying East Coast Mesh and space in the new warehouse was already becoming too tight. By November of 2013, ECD moved into a 9,000 square foot space located just outside Baltimore, MD.

Around the Spring of 2016, ECD was again outgrowing their space. By June of 2016, they expanded into the warehouse space next door bringing the ECD HQ to a 21,000 square foot space. They added a 1,800 square foot custom turf area, provided by FieldTurf, where pros could train and test products along with 2,000 square feet of new office space for designing and developing future products.

What was started with just Greg in his college bedroom, has now turned into a company with over 20 employees, that works with every major retailer in the lacrosse industry.

Greg and Mike are extremely proud of ECD Lacrosse; the company motto “Hard Work Pays Off” is a reminder that success does not come without hard work. It also does not come without loyal fans. A huge thank you to all of our fans for making our dream a reality, helping turn hard work into success, and for your continued support as we grow.
