I'm really torn about this head - out of all ECD heads I have used, it is by far the best on ground balls at the end of a D pole, and is easy to string up a great pocket, I think it is great for LSM.
But, I don't think the material is very durable, or maybe it is the shape/design? I have thrown a hard poke check with 3 different Delta heads (including one graphene version) and seen the head bend/fold to the side like crazy. It did spring back, and I could get it "almost" straight by bending it the opposite way, but the stiffness was never the same after that. Once the head bends like that, it is weaker and flexes much more easily, making it less effective for lifting or poke checks.
I have seen the video where they show some automated machine doing thousands of sideways hits of their heads to test durability, and maybe that simulates slap or chopping checks, but I wonder if there is any stress testing of a 'straight on' check like a poke check?
It would be really interesting to see this head shape made with a different material, maybe the FlexForm plastic of a DNA? Those at least feel more durable (thicker?) to me.
I really want to like this head, but I think I'm going to try a couple other brands/models to see how they hold up in comparison. If you don't usually throw poke checks, maybe this won't be an issue for you. Besides the bending, I really did like this head.
